The Vancouver Canucks take the ice at the Xcel Energy Center versus the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.
The Vancouver Canucks saw their bid for a three game winning streak come to an end by a 4-0 count against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. The Canucks couldn’t prevent Patrick Kane from extending his points streak to 25 games with an assist and they couldn’t find a way to beat Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford. The best the Canucks could do is make Crawford work with 30 shots while Ryan Miller was charged with three goals on 29 shots that dropped Vancouver to 11-12-8 overall. Crawford recorded his second consecutive whitewash and has four this year and 16 for his career. Brandon Mashinter, Duncan Keith, Andrew Shaw and Dennis Rasmussen each found the back of the net to raise the Blackhawks record to 17-10-4.

The Minnesota Wild will be searching for back to back victories after a 2-0 decision against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night at the SAP Center. The Wild had lost two straight games in overtime and appeared to be heading for another extra session before Zach Parise lit the lamp at 4:41 of the third with Mikko Koivu finding the empty net with less then 34 seconds remaining to lock up the win. Darcy Kuemper earned his 6th career shutout with 25 saves as Minnesota improved to 15-7-6 and win at San Jose for the second time in 12 visits. San Jose’s funk continued with loss number six straight as Martin Jones was took a tough loss with 28 stops to drop the Sharks to 14-14-1.
