The New York Islanders shoot for a win at the Gila River Arena versus the Arizona Coyotes.
The New York Islanders will look to rediscover their offense following a 2-1 defeat at the Pepsi Center on Thursday to a suddenly hot Colorado squad. The Avalanche have won four in a row for their longest streak since 2014 and in the process picked up a rare win in front of their fans. The Avs offense belonged to Francois Beauchemin who scored in the first and in the third with just 3:48 remaining in regulation. Semyon Varlamov was strong between the pipes with a 33 save performance that lifted the Avs to 16-16-1. Brock Nelson scored on a second period power play for New York but a 28 save effort from Thomas Greiss wasn’t enough to prevent consecutive losses.

The Arizona Coyotes are looking to find their defense after a 7-5 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets in Thursday action at the Gila River Arena. Curtis McElhinney won it with 27 saves but it was his offense that really saved the day with seven different players lighting the lamp. Brandon Saad, Alexander Wennberg and Cam Atkinson scored and posted assists while Brandon Dubinsky, Nick Foligno, David Clarkson and Matt Calvert also lit the lamp with the Blue Jackets upping their record to 12-19-3. Anders Lindback struggled between the pipes with only six saves on ten shots before getting the hook with Louis Dominigue charged with a pair of goals on ten shots. The offense exploded but still fell short with Tobias Reider scoring twice while Jordan Martinook, Viktor Tikhonov and Antoine Vermette also scoring.
The under is 3-0-2 in Islanders last 5 Saturday games and the Islanders are 10-2 in their last 12 vs. Western Conference while going 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Pacific. The over is 5-0-3 in Coyotes last 8 vs. Metropolitan and is 11-2-3 in Coyotes last 16 vs. Eastern Conference while the Coyotes are 5-21 in their last 26 vs. Metropolitan. The over is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Arizona and is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings while the home team is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings. Waiting for goalies but I’m looking at New York right now…
