The inconsistent Sharks head into the Windy City on Sunday looking to spoil the party for the Blackhawks who return after a shootout win over the Sabres in Buffalo yesterday.
The San Jose Sharks head into Chicago on Sunday looking to snap out of a 3-6-1 slump that continued in Ottawa on Friday and distance themselves from the rest of the pack for second spot in the lowly Pacific division. The Sharks currently hold down the two seed despite a 16-15-1 record but with second through seventh separated by just four points it is tough to determine just how good the Sharks are as they are a losing skid away from landing in the basement. The Sharks to me are an overrated group that needs to move on from the core they have had for the last decade and while the wheels are in motion for that transition I can't help but think it is hindering them by hanging on to the likes of Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau. San Jose will start Martin Jones as he will go up against Scott Darling.

The Blackhawks are coming off a tougher than expected victory over the Buffalo Sabres yesterday afternoon and as all things have been so far this year with the Hawks they ran through Buffalo native Patrick Kane. The Hawks were actually trailing with 30 seconds remaining in the third period before Kane netted the tying goal and moments later he sealed a Chicago win by scoring the shootout winner that gave them two big points that perhaps they shouldn't have earned. The Hawks are a great team as we all know and while they have some holes that make them a different group from last year they are still in the mix in the Central and should be considered the favourite to repeat until someone takes them down. As for tonight, this shouldn't be close as the Hawks are the better group and they should get another victory here against San Jose.
