The Washington Capitals stayed red hot with a 3-1 win versus the Montreal Canadiens Saturday at the Verizon Center. The Capitals notched win number seven in a row behind another solid defensive effort. Jay Beagle, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Jason Chimera each scored with Nate Schmidt and Tom Wilson logging two assists apiece. Braden Holtby posted 29 stops as Washington improved to 26-6-2 which is tops in the Eastern Conference. The Canadiens struggles continued with Daniel Carr scoring the lone goal while Mike Condon recorded 30 stops to absorb the loss as the Habs fell to 20-14-1 with their 6th straight defeat.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will be looking for another home win when the Montreal Canadiens visit on Monday.
