The Panthers look to take over top spot in the Atlantic division with a win at home on Tuesday as they welcome the Canadiens to town.
The Montreal Canadiens ended their ugly losing skid on Monday with a shootout win over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Florida last night and will look to complete the state sweep with a win tonight against the Panthers in Sunrise. The Canadiens had a tough stretch leading into the Christmas break but finally got back in the win column against a division rival they have had trouble with in the last year or so but after finally getting a win perhaps the monkey off the back could be what they need to continue their push forward. The Habs will start newly acquired goaltender Ben Scrivens who will make his season debut against Roberto Luongo who has been lights out for the Cats of late.

The Florida Panthers remain a dark horse in the Eastern Conference and as winners of six in a row they have skyrocketed up the Atlantic division and are now just a point of first place with two games in hand on the Habs. Florida has a very solid back end led by second year sensation Aaron Ekblad and with Luongo back in his comfort zone he has really started to flourish after a tumultuous stint with the Canucks sent him back to Sunrise. Florida is a very good team that matches up well against the Habs and with Scrivens getting his first crack at it I think the Cats take advantage and get a big time victory.
