The Hurricanes look to complete the home and home sweep of the Blue Jackets as the scene shifts to Columbus on Saturday night.
The Carolina Hurricanes put up a solid effort at home last night as they took down the Jackets by a 4-1 final in a game where the result was never really in question and now they will look for back to back wins and complete the sweep of their Metro division rivals. The Canes are 5-3-2 in their last 10 games and have looked like a group ready to take a charge at a wild card spot and while they still possess a losing record they are only four points out of a wild card spot. The Canes will look to back up Eddie Lack who should match up against Anton Forsberg for Columbus who desperately need to get a victory in this one.
The Jackets are a few losses away fro officially hitting the panic button and while they have already dealt their franchise forward away in Ryan Johansen for promising young blue liner Seth Jones they still haven’t blown things up. Columbus is well below expectation this season as they were projected to compete for a division title but instead sit in last place in the NHL and don’t appear to be making any strides any time soon. Columbus will likely end up with a top draft pick in the off season and for that to continue I think their losing ways continue even at home against a division rival.
