The Bruins look to shake out of their losing funk as they take to the road to battle the Flyers in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.
The Boston looked poised to make a serious push at the Atlantic division crown just a couple of weeks back but thanks to their 3-6-1 stretch and Florida’s surge the tables have turned and now they are fighting to keep afloat sitting in fifth place. However, the entire division remains up for grabs as there is just five points separating second from sixth and with the Metro division heating up as well the B;s know that their only ticket into the dance will be claiming one of the three spots given to the Atlantic division. Boston is coming off a loss but they are a very impressive 12-4-3 on the road this season while the Flyers are 10-5-4 at home.
The Flyers meanwhile are starting to turn things up a notch which is bad news for the rest of the Metropolitan division and those in the Atlantic aspiring for a wild card spot as this is a team who was vastly underachieving and their success was lying dormant waiting to be found. Philly has a pretty solid roster and when they get on a winning streak they are a tough group to slow down and while they may be a little too far removed from making a run at home ice in the first round they are a legitimate threat for a wild card spot. The Flyers have a nice history with the B’s dating back to their remarkable come back in the postseason and while that is well in the past I think we see a similar result here as the Flyers get it done.
