The NHL has a pretty good-looking lineup of five games on tap for tonight, so it’ll be a nice evening for us hockey lovers. In the meantime, let’s check out our daily look at the key players and stats from around the league.

Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins: Yesterday’s early game featured the Penguins and Hurricanes squaring off at Consol Energy Center. Pittsburgh dominated this one, with Crosby scoring a pair of goals in the 5-0 shutout.
Marc-Andre Fleury held it down in net, stopping all 22 shots that came his way. It was the 41st shutout of his career and his third of the year.

Jonathan Toews, C, Chicago Blackhawks: Toews had a great night in Chicago yesterday. He posted a pair of goals on four shots, helping his team to a 5-2 win against the Canadiens at United Center.
Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist with seven shots on goal, while Marian Hossa helped out with a score and two assists of his own.
The Blackhawks have won 11 straight games.

Justin Williams, RW, Washington Capitals: The Rangers had no answer for Williams last night, as he bagged a hat trick in a 5-2 victory at Verizon Center.
Williams’ last hat trick was way back in October of 2006, when he played for the Hurricanes.
The Capitals have won 12 straight at home and are 34-8-3 on the year.

Anze Kopitar, C, Los Angeles Kings: Kopitar posted a goal and an assist with three shots last night against the Ducks, and it helped his team to a 3-2 win at Honda Center.
Kopitar has goals in three of his past four games and 20 points in his last 15 appearances. He just signed an eight-year contract extension this weekend.
