The Winnipeg Jets look for a win versus the visiting Colorado Avalanche Monday night.
The Colorado Avalanche have enjoyed some success away from home but nothing positive was to be found Saturday in a 2-1 defeat at the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Avalanche gave up a late goal with just over a minute remaining in regulation but it was the offense that failed to find a groove. The Avs lone goal came off the stick of Chris Wagner with the loss going to Calvin Pickard who recorded 19 stops as Colorado fell to 22-21-3. Jack Johnson and Brandon Dubinsky provided the Blue Jackets offense with rookie netminder stopping 29 shots to help Columbus improve to 17-25-4 which is still last in the league.

The Winnipeg Jets are in need of a long winning streak and perhaps one is in the making. The Jets knocked off the Minnesota Wild 1-0 at the Excel Energy Center on Friday night. The offense didn’t do much but the defense and work between the pipes was outstanding with Connor Hellebuycyk brushing aside all 24 shots for the second shutout of his rookie campaign. Winnipeg improved to 21-21-3 following back to back victories. Minnesota was shutout for the first time which made Devan Dubnyk left on his lonesome and his 25 saves was not enough. The Wild have lost consecutive contests and fell to 22-14-8.
The Avalanche are 4-0 in their last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and the over is 4-0 in Avalanche last 4 vs. Central while the Avalanche are 5-0 in their last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. The Jets are 0-4 in their last 4 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and the under is 3-0-2 in Jets last 5 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game while going 7-1-1 in Jets last 9 games following a win. The home team is 8-1 in the last 9 meetings and the Avalanche are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings while going are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Winnipeg. No goalies are confirmed but a slight lean to the Jets for now…
