The Oilers look to complete the Florida sweep after taking down the Panthers last night as they head into Tampa Bay to do battle with the Lightning.
The Oilers got a rare road victory in Florida last night night as they doubled up on the Panthers by a 4-2 final behind Taylor Hall’s three point night and now they can earn back to back wins with a trip to Tampa to battle the Lightning. Edmonton has come on hard luck this season with their stars getting injured as first it was rookie phenom Connor McDavid going down, followed by a freak accident to Nail Yakupov, and now it looks like Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will be out for the long haul thanks to a hand injury sustained last night. While Edmonton is bound to get McDavid back soon, and Yakupov has already returned it is just another example of Oilers Luck and how they have been hit hard over their years of futility. Nonetheless, the Oilers need to keep pushing forward and a show down in Tampa with the Lightning is a good litmus test for them and a possibility of getting the two game sweep.

The Bolts meanwhile have been up and down all season and have been the centre of trade speculation thanks to Steven Stamkos and while the Lightning captain and league superstar could still be on the move it appears as though the whirlwind surrounding it has died down a little bit. Tampa is playing a lot better of late as they have won five in a row and are 7-2-1 in their last 10 contests and quietly through their winning ways is goaltender Ben Bishop who is having himself a very successful season in the Tampa crease. The Bolts are heavy favourites here and while they should get the win it is a pricey play unless you take the puck line. I am more inclined to go with the total and with Edmonton playing last night and losing one of their scorers this one seems like a low scoring affair that will come in under the number.
