The Jets and Predators renew hostilities in Winnipeg on Thursday night as the fans hope for an encore of their last meeting.
The Nashville Predators are in a tough spot in the Central division right now as they are in sixth place and have gone 2-6-2 in their last 10 contests and after already making a move to acquire some help in the offensive zone they are still not satisfied with where they stand. The Preds are still in the fight for a playoff spot thanks to the underwhelming efforts from the majority of the Pacific division but they’ll have to keep pace with the likes of Minnesota, Arizona, and Colorado moving forward and that may not be so easy with their current make up. Nashville is 7-11-5 on the road and will start Pekka RInne while the Jets are 12-8-1 at home and will counter with Connor Hellebuyck.

The Jets meanwhile are right in the mix among the league’s biggest underachievers this season sitting in last place the Central and a long shot to make the playoffs but they do still have a competitive team worthy of the postseason. Winnipeg is 4-5-1 in their last 10 contests and are a game under .500 on the season but they have still been strong at home and the last time they played the Preds in Winnipeg it was one of the most exciting games of the season in a high scoring victory. While the final line may not be the same I think we see a similar outcome as Nashville is in shambles right now and need to address some gaping holes.
