The Blackhawks look to avoid the Florida sweep after a loss in Tampa last night as they travel into Sunrise to face the Panthers.
The Chicago Blackhawks had their 12 game winning streak snapped in Tampa Bay last night as they fell by a 2-1 final and their offense sputtered against a Bolts team that was in desperate need a victory. The Hawks go back to the drawing board atop the Central division heading into this contest and they face off against a Panthers side that just had their own 12 game streak snapped recently and now they are trending in the other direction as losers of three in a row. Scott Darling is expected to get the start in the Chicago crease as Corey Crawford played last night while the Cats will counter with Roberto Luongo who has plenty of history playing against the Cup champs.

The Panthers look to send Chicago out of Florida with back to back losses and will need a stingy defensive effort if they’re going to pull it off as the Hawks will be itching after last night’s one goal outing. Florida is a solid group that sits atop the Atlantic division for a reason and while they have dropped three games in a row they are in a good position here to make a statement against the defending league champions. Florida is 13-7-2 at home and while Chicago is an impressive 12-9-3 on the road they face a tough task here as the Cats have the edge in the crease and to me that will be the difference.
