We’ve got a pretty good-looking six-game schedule coming up in the NHL tonight, which is a nice way to kick off the weekend. Let’s check out some of the notable players in the headlines today while we’re waiting on those games.
Daniel Sedin, LW, Vancouver Canucks: Sedin will remember last night’s game for a long time. He became the franchise’s leading scorer in a 4-2 win over the Bruins, with two goals on four shots.
Sedin has 347 goals with Vancouver, surpassing Markus Naslund.
The Canucks are 20-17-11 overall, and 3-1-1 on their six-game road trip so far. They’ll be in Pittsburgh tomorrow.

Travis Zajac, C, New Jersey Devils: Zajac had a great game last night at Prudential Center. He posted a goal and three assists in a 6-3 victory against the Senators.
Joseph Blandisi had a goal and two assists, while Kyle Palmieri logged two goals and an assist of his own.
The Devils were up 5-0 in this one, which propelled them to 24-19-5 on the season. They scored on five of their first 10 shots.
Phil Kessel, RW, Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins edged out the Flyers last night at Consol Energy Center with a 4-3 victory. Kessel scored twice, while Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist on five shots. Claude Giroux had a goal and a helper on the other side.
The Pens were trailing 2-0 entering the second period but quickly tied things up.
Pittsburgh is now 22-17-7, while the Flyers fall to 20-17-8.
Martin Jones, G, San Jose Sharks: Jones had a nice defensive performance last night against the Coyotes in Glendale. He snagged 23 saves on 24 shots in a 3-1 victory.
Tommy Wingels and Chris Tierney scored in the first 10 minutes of action to help get the pace going quickly.
The Sharks are 24-18-3 on the season and in second in the Pacific Division right now.
