The Edmonton Oilers make the trip to the Canadian Tire Centre to oppose the Ottawa Senators.

The Edmonton Oilers began the second half of the season with a splash in a 5-1 rout of the Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday night at Rexall Place. This game featured the long awaited return of Connor McDavid who had missed 37 games with a fractured clavicle. McDavid didn’t disappoint with a goal and a pair of assists with Jordan Eberle, Eric Gryba, Benoit Pouliot and Leon Draisaitl also lighting the lamp. Cam Talbot recorded 36 stops as the Oilers halted a three game skid and improved to 20-26-5. The Blue Jackets lone goal came off the stick of Matt Calvert with Joonas Korpisalo stopping 30 shots as Columbus fell to 19-28-5.

Ottawa Senators vs. Edmonton Oilers - 2/4/16 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Ottawa Senators look to bounce back from a 6-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Consol Energy Center on Tuesday night. Sydney Crosby paced the Penguins attack with a hat trick while Matt Cullen, Kris Letang and Chris Kunitz also got in to the scoring column. Kunitz and Evgeni Malkin also posted a pair of assists while Marc-Andre Fleury was charged with five goals but the Pens still improved to 25-17-7. The Senators received goals from Mark Stone, Chris Wideman, Cody Ceci, Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Dave Dziurzynski but Craig Anderson gave up all six goals on 44 shots as Ottawa fell to 23-22-6.

The under is 5-0 in Oilers last 5 Thursday games and is 4-0 in Oilers last 4 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game while the over is 20-5-1 in Oilers last 26 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game. The Senators are 7-1 in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and the under is 6-1 in Senators last 7 home games while going   6-1 in Senators last 7 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game. The road team is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings and the over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Ottawa while the Oilers are 4-10 in the last 14 meetings. I lean over until I see goalies…
