February 8, 2016
It’ll be another pretty quiet day in the NHL today; we’ve got just four matchups this evening to look forward to. That said, there should be plenty to talk about in the meantime, so let’s visit with some of the key stats and players out there right now.
Braden Holtby, G, Washington Capitals: Yesterday’s early game was a good one. The Caps edged out the Flyers 3-2 at Verizon Center.
Holtby snagged 33 saves as the Flyers outshot the Caps 35-30, while Alex Ovechkin, Dmitry Orlov and Matt Niskanen each had goals.
For Ovechkin, it was his 30th goal of the season as he continues yet another impressive campaign.
This win brings the Capitals to 80 points at 38-9-4, and the Flyers have 55 at 23-19-9.
