he Lightning continue their Eastern Canada road trip as they travel from Ottawa to Montreal to battle the Canadiens on Tuesday night.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will be looking for a rebound effort on Tuesday night after getting waxed in Ottawa last night to the tune of a 5-1 final where the end result was never really In question. Tampa failed to gain ground on the Panthers who fell 3-0 to the Red Wings last night and now have to contend with a handful of teams including Detroit and Boston, and to a lesser extent Montreal in what should be a very interesting race down the stretch. Tampa has a solid team as we saw in last year’s playoffs but something seems to be a bit awry with them this year despite a spectacular season out of goaltender Ben Bishop who is in the running for the Vezina Trophy. The Bolts will likely stick with Bishop here as he will go up against Ben Scrivens.

The Canadiens meanwhile are coming off a win against the Oilers and while you have to take it with a grain of salt they are happy to just get some points at this rate as they have been downright awful over the last two months. Montreal has won back to back games and are in a nice spot in terms of competing for the playoffs thanks to their strong start but they do trail the Bolts by six points and have played the most of any team in the Atlantic division. Scrivens played very well in a motivation game against his former team on Saturday but I think he and the Habs get a dose of reality tonight against a frustrated Lightning side in desperate need of a win.
