The Line: Edmonton Oilers +105 / Minnesota Wild -125 --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Wild complete their Alberta road trip with a date in Edmonton tonight after a game in Calgary against the Flames on Wednesday.
The Minnesota Wild hit a huge speed bump over the last couple of weeks and ultimately it cost former head coach Mike Yeo his job as this is a team that has Cup aspirations and a championship roster but for some reason something wasn’t clicking. The coaching switch seems to have worked though as it has sparked the Wild into a win over the Canucks and a 4-2 lead on the Flames after 40 minutes and with Devan Dubnyk slated to get another start against his former team you can be sure they will be ready to go in this one against Edmonton. The Wild are battling to get into the playoffs and with so much talent in the Central division they know they need to move quickly before they run out of time. Dubnyk will likely square off against Cam Talbot who continues to see the majority of work in the Oilers’ crease.
USA TODAY Sports
The Oilers head into tonight’s game sitting in last place in the Pacific division and the Western Conference and with each passing game they are slowly playing their way out of the postseason as they are 15 points back of San Jose for third. Edmonton has been playing a lot better with Connor McDavid back in the lineup and they did get a nice outing out of Taylor Hall and Leon Draisaitl against the Ducks but a 5-3 loss has them at 22-30-6 on the year and well back of any wild card spot. Edmonton is a good team at home but they seem to have issues playing against former players and Dubnyk should add to their misery in this one. I like the under here as Minny is in a back to back and the Oil should have trouble scoring goals here.
