We have a nice seven-game schedule coming up in the NHL tonight, which continues a nice run of busy league action. In the meantime, let’s visit with the headlines in our daily wrap-up to see which players are in the news.
Corey Crawford, G, Chicago Blackhawks: Crawford stood tall last night at United Center against the Blackhawks’ rival Red Wings. He snagged 33 saves on 34 shots in a 4-1 victory, allowing no scoring in the second and third periods.
Patrick Kane (38) and Jonathan Toews (24) each scored in this one, as did Artem Anisimov (19) and Duncan Keith (9) who got theirs on power plays.
That makes the Blackhawks 41-21-5 with 87 points; the Red Wings have 75 points with a 32-22-11 record.

Evgeni Malkin, C, Pittsburgh Penguins: The Pens put up another strong effort last night, this time at Prudential Center in Newark against the Devils.
Malkin scored twice in a dominating 6-1 victory, while Bryan Rust scored and had two assists.
As for Malkin, he now has 27 goals on the year. Kyle Palmieri scored his 25th on the other side.
The Pens are now 34-23-8 with 76 points; the Devils have 69 points at 31-29-7.
Johnny Boychuk, D, New York Islanders: Boychuk bagged a pair of goals last night against the Rangers, helping his team to a 6-4 victory.
This one had fireworks from the very beginning, as it was 4-3 after the first period.
The Isles get to 79 points and a 36-20-7 record with this win, while the Rangers flail at 38-22-6 and 82 points.
Jake Allen, G, St. Louis Blues: Allen was a busy guy last night at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul. He turned away 30 of 32 shots, helping his team to a 4-2 win over the Wild.
The Blues opened up a 3-0 lead after the second period here, with goals from Jori Lehtera, Ryan Reaves and Patrik Berglund.
With the win, St. Louis has 85 points and a 38-20-9 record. The wild have 72 points at 31-26-10.
