The Flyers look to get themselves on the score sheet and even things up with the Capitals while the home side can go up 2-0 heading to the road with a win tonight.
The Philadelphia Flyers snuck their way into the Eastern Conference playoffs thanks in large part to a late season collapse by the Boston Bruins and they are feeling the wrath right now as they are matched up with the league’s best team in the first round. The Flyers are a decent bunch but don’t have the scoring touch to keep pace with the high flying Capitals and beyond Claude Giroux they don’t really have a bona fide superstar and quite frankly I think their stay in these playoffs will be short lived. The Flyers did keep the Caps relatively in check in game one holding them to just two goals but they need to find a way to solve Braden Holtby who recorded a shutout in the series opener and is on track to win the Vezina this season.

The Capitals avoided a let down in their series opener and now that they have a win under their belts I feel like they are going to let loose and completely take over this series. The Caps are known for their postseason futility and while this is likely a Cup or bust type of season for them I think getting out of the first round and setting up a potential show down with the Penguins is on their mind already. Washington is loaded across the board and are very good at all three levels of the game and should be considered the favourite to win the Cup and that starts with another big win at home in game two here against the Flyers.
