The Anaheim Ducks look to even the score and regain home ice advantage as they face off against the Predators in Nashville on Thursday night.
The Ducks took the road and got exactly what they were looking for in Tuesday night’s game three victory as they completely shut out the Preds and finished with a 3-0 tally. Anaheim looked very sloppy in games one and two in Anaheim and have had to take to the road to find their stride and while the Predators are still very much in the driver’s seat the Ducks know it’ll be a huge momentum swinger if they can grab both games in Nashville and return home with a ton of energy and confidence. Anaheim will stay with John Gibson in the crease and he will face off against Pekka Rinne who remains the only option for Nashville in goal thanks to another stellar season.

Nashville took everyone by surprise after they took the first two games of this series and did so by putting the puck in the net instead of focusing on keeping it out and when the Preds are having an easy time scoring they are going to win a lot of hockey games. Nashville does have some very nice pieces that will be used in the years to come but their focus is on the now and need at least a first round series win to justify moving Seth Jones to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Ryan Johansen. The Predators were useless in game three and while I expect a much better outing from them here I am not sold on them as a potential Cup finalist whereas the Ducks possess a much deeper pedigree and I think they get the win and get back on even terms tonight.
