The Dallas Stars are coming off a six-game series against the Minnesota Wild. The Dallas Stars are averaging 3.2 goals per game and are scoring on 22.1 percent of their power plays. Jamie Benn leads Dallas with four goals, Jason Spezza has five assists and Patrick Sharp has 19 shots on goal. Defensively, the Dallas Stars are allowing 2.8 goals per game and are killing 82.3 percent of their power play chances. Kari Lehtonen has given up nine goals on 101 shots faced and Antti Niemi has given up seven goals on 54 shots. Lehtonen has allowed nine goals in his last three games.
The Stars may have the advantage on their home ice, but the Blues looked a little more impressive in their first round series against a better oppoenent in the Blackhawks. Also, the Blues beat the Stars in four of the five meetings this season, which has to count for something. I think St. Louis can build off what it just did in round one and find a way to steal the first contest on the road.
I like the Blues in this spot.
