The Stars and Blues meet up in Dallas on Friday night as they kick off the first game of their Western Conference semi-final series at American Airlines Arena.
The Blues head into the second round for the first time in ages and did so by taking out the defending champions in a game seven show down earlier this week and are now one step closer to the Western Conference final. St. Louis had a tough draw in the first round by landing the Hawks but with the Central division being so competitive and possessing three of the league’s top teams it was inevitable that one wouldn’t make it past the first round and unfortunately for Chicago fans it had to be them this year. The Blues have some momentum heading into this series but it will be a tough one as they don’t have home ice advantage and will face off against a high scoring Stars side that will be out to prove their spot as the top seed in the West wasn’t a fluke.

The Stars head into this series coming off a six game win over the Minnesota Wild in the first round but had a bit of a scare after Minny made things interesting and had their chances of pulling off the upset. Dallas as mentioned is loaded I the offensive end and while they will be without Tyler Seguin for at least the first two games of this series they have a ton of other guys who can step up in his absence and lead the Stars to a pivotal first win on Friday. However, the Blues match up very well with the Stars and should be considered the favourites in my opinion and and with the goaltending edge and much more depth on the blue line I think St. Louis comes in and steals the first game against a Stars side that has been off for a bit.
