The Predators look to play their way back into their second round series with the Sharks when the teams meet up in San Jose on Sunday.
The Nashville Predators took one on the chin in Friday night’s series opener with the San Jose Sharks as the Pacific division’s third seed continued their playoff onslaught by registering their fifth win in six games by coming away with an impressive 5-2 victory. The Preds shocked the hockey world by ousting the Anaheim Ducks in a seven game thriller in the opening round but they continue to receive little respect from the odds makers as the Sharks are big time favourites in this game, but that suits the Preds just fine as they have thrived in the underdog role all season. The Preds will need a big game out of Pekka RInne in the crease if they’re to even the series as he will match up against Martin Jones who has been impressive in his first season with the Sharks.

The Sharks meanwhile continue to be one of the most impressive teams of these playoffs so far as they made quick work of the LA Kings in the opening round and now look poised to do the same against a Predators side that didn’t really start playing playoff calibre hockey until after the all-star break. San Jose has a very solid lineup that has been together for years but this is the first stretch where they have been able to generate success in the postseason and for the time being it looks as though they have shed their playoff underachieving label and could very well go on a deep playoff run. San Jose is favoured here for a reason as they are the better team and prove it once again on Sunday.
