The Islanders and Lightning shift their series to Brooklyn on Tuesday as the teams split their first two games at Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay.
The Bolts look to build on their game two victory and generate some momentum heading into the middle portion of their series with New York but they know things will be tough as the Islanders were one of the league’s best home teams this season and really seem to get up for their home fans. Tampa Bay does have a nice balance on offense, even without Steven Stamkos in the lineup, as guys like Jonathan Drouin, Nikita Kucherov, and Tyler Johnson have all stepped and with John Tavares leading the way on the other side for the Isles, Tampa know their secondary scoring is going to be the difference maker for them in this series. Ben Bishop will get the nod as he will face off against Thomas Greiss who continues to start for the Isles with a mending Jaro Halak slated back soon.

The Islanders look to retain home ice advantage after a massive game one victory put them in the driver’s seat and with the next two games slated to go at the Barclay’s Center you have to like the way things are shaping up for them despite losing in game two. New York, to me, has the better team overall as they possess an underrated blue line and a group of forwards that are big game type of guys, led of course by team captain John Tavares who scored the game tying and winning goal in the series clincher against the Panthers in the first round. This is a great spot for the home team as they will have the crowd on their side and with their offense I think they get to Bishop early and hold on for a game three victory.
