The Predators look to pull even in the second round series with the Sharks as they face off in Nashville on Thursday.
The Sharks lost just their second game of these playoffs in game three of this series with the Predators and was the most lopsided of the two defeats by a large margin as they were almost perfect against the Kings in the first round. San Jose will look to move to 2-0 following a loss in the postseason and can pull away to a 3-1 series lead with a victory here which would match the same path as they followed to beat LA and would set up a potential elimination game on home ice in game five. San Jose will stick with Martin Jones in the crease who had a tough game three outing and will face off against Pekka RInne who has instrumental in Nashville’s lone victory of the series and will need to be sharp again on Thursday.

The Predators meanwhile have been very competitive in this series and have been the biggest surprise of these playoffs after taking down the Ducks in the first round and now look like a team that could upend the Sharks and come away as the Pacific bracket representatives. Nashville doesn’t have a flashy lineup up front but they have a balanced attack with plenty of secondary scoring options and with a strong defensive core and a world class goaltender they are a tough team to figure out from an opponent’s perspective and across a seven game set you can see a number of different versions of this team. Unfortunately for them, the Sharks are the better team and will show it once again with a big road win after looking lost in game three.
