The San Jose Sharks look to even the Stanley Cup Finals when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins Monday in game four.
The Pittsburgh Penguins could have taken a 3-0 series lead and all but sewn up the Stanley Cup with a win Saturday night at San Jose but it was the desperate Sharks that came from behind to upend the Pens 3-2 in overtime. The Sharks were 0-4 in overtime contests in the postseason but finally got a win in their 5th try to narrow the Penguins series lead to 2-1.

The second straight overtime of the series came to an end when Joonas Donski found the back of the net in the extra session to make the first Stanley Cup Finals game ever played at the SAP Center a winner with San Jose trying for a repeat performance Monday on home ice. Ben Lovejoy got the Penguins on the board first 5:29 in to the opening frame with Justin Braun netting the equalizer for the Sharks almost four minutes later.
Patrick Hornqvist gave Pittsburgh a 2-1 edge heading to the third with his tally with just 53 seconds left in the middle frame. SJ was awarded a four minute power play when Nick Bonino was whistled for a high stick that cut Joe Thornton beneath his eye. The Sharks needed every second to net the tying goal with Joel Ward scoring with only a second left on the PP.
Matthew Murray allowed three goals on 26 shots to absorb the loss while Martin Jones recorded an amazing 40 saves to carry the Sharks as the Penguins continue to blitz the the San Jose netminder with plenty of rubber although Jones has stood tall for the third straight time.
