NHL hockey comes to Keybank Center when the Buffalo Sabres host the Minnesota Wild.
Sometimes I am surprise by the different scores in NHL hockey on almost a nightly basis. One of those score was the Wild going to Boston and blanking the Bruins 5-0 on Tuesday night. The balanced Minnesota attack featured goals from Chris Stewart, Charlie Coyle, Ryan Suter, Jason Zucker and Jason Pominville. The support was overkill for goalie Devan Dubnyk who sopped 27 shots to record his 20th career shutout. The Bruins were shorthanded in goal with Tuuka Rask and Anton Khodobin out so Malcom Subban got his second career start and was pulled in the second after giving up three goals with Zane McIntyre finishing up with a pair of goals given up on 17 shots.

There have been some big comebacks in NHL hockey in the young season so far and the Philadelphia Flyers are proof that no lead is safe as they erased a 3-0 third period deficit to win a 4-3 shootout victory versus visiting Buffalo on Tuesday. Matt Moulson scored twice for the Sabres with Tyler Ennis also lighting the lamp with Anders Nilsson absorbing the loss. The Flyers received goals fron Mark Streit, Brayden Schenn and Travis Konecny in regulation before Jake Voracek and Claude Giroux tallied in the shootout. Flyers goaltender Michal Neuirth was pulled after allowing all three Sabres goals before Steve Mason came on to stop all eight shots he faced.
The under is 2-0-2 in Wild last 4 Thursday games and the Wild are 1-5 in their last 6 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game while the Wild are 5-1 in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. The under is 1-0-4 in Sabres last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and the under is 3-0-4 in Sabres last 7 home games while the under is 3-0-2 in Sabres last 5 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days. The over is 2-0-3 in the last 5 meetings and the Wild are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Buffalo while the Wild are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
Minnesota has had the upper hand in this match up but we all know they do come up big on occasion. Please check back when goalies are confirmed…
