The Detroit Red Wings welcome the Boston Bruins to town for an NHL hockey bout.
The Boston Bruins looked good when they jumped to a 2-0 lead at the New York Rangers but it was all downhill from there with New York scoring the next five goals for a 5-2 victory. The Bruins offense came from Austin Czarnik and David Pastrnak but Zane McIntyre in his first career start in the nets took the loss after finishing with 26 saves. Brandon Pirri led the Rangers attack with a pair of tallies and was joined in the scoring column by Kevin Hayes, Jimmy Vesey and Rick Nash. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 27 shots to lift the Rangers to 5-2.

The Detroit Red Wings winning streak reached six games but it was far from easy. The Red Wings defeated St. Louis 2-1 in a shoot out Thursday in the 8th round of an obvious defensive struggle. Henrik Zetterberg finally won it with his 8th round tally and help keep the Wings rolling with nemesis Boston due up next. Frans Nielsen scored a shorthanded goal for Detroit in regulation while Kevin Shattenkirk tallied for the Blues as these teams battled to their 4th overtime in five contests. Petr Mrazak picked up the win for Detroit with 31 saves while Jake Allen recorded 26 stops in a hard luck defeat.
