The Florida Panthers return home looking for a big win against the Boston Bruins as the Atlantic rivals meet up on Tuesday night.
The Boston Bruins look to snap out of their losing ways following a victory as they are 2-7 in their last nine games following a win and need to generate some more consistency in their game if they’re going to be a playoff team in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins have undergone a face lift over the last few seasons and have moved on from a couple of key pieces that led them to the Stanley Cup in 2010 but they still have a serviceable lineup led by Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, and Brad Marchand. Boston will likely get Tuukka Rask back in the net here as he has been off for the last few games and that is a welcome addition for the Bruins who didn’t have a ton of success in his absence. Rask is slated to match up with Roberto Luongo who has split his first six games this season and sports a very respectable 2.33 goals against average.

The Panthers meanwhile look for their fourth home win in five tries in what should be a very exciting game between these two divisional foes and in the end it looks like it’ll come down to goaltending. The Cats have a very well balanced roster, a great mix of veteran and youth presence, and a goaltender in Luongo who is back in his comfort zone after some tumultuous seasons in Vancouver and is back to playing at an elite level. Florida was a playoff team last year and is more than capable of getting back there and should pose a threat to some of the top teams in the Atlantic to win the division.
The Bruins are 1-4 in their last five against a team with a losing record and 0-4 in their last four Tuesday games while the Panthers are 10-3 in their last 13 Tuesday games and 2-5 in their last seven overall. Rask is undefeated so far this season but could be in tough here in his first game back and I think at home the Panthers are the play.
