The San Jose Sharks visit Gila River Arena to battle the Arizona Coyotes in an NHL hockey bout.
The San Jose Sharks played well enough to win at St. Louis on Thursday night but in the end a lack of scoring punch proved costly in a 3-2 defeat. The Sharks received goals from Logan Couture and a career first tally from Kevin LeBlanc but goalie Martin Jones couldn’t make it hold up. San Jose had their opportunities but going 0-6 on the power play and a 6-4 in the final minute went by the wayside. Jaden Schwartz was the Blues offensive star with a pair of tallies with David Perron also lighting the lamp to make the 29 save performance of Jake Allen a winner in a rematch of last season’s Western Conference finals won by the Sharks.

The Arizona Coyotes let one slip through their fingers in a 3-2, overtime loss at Vancouver on Thursday as winning on the road is a difficult thing to accomplish. The Canucks broke in to celebration when Ben Hutton’s OT penalty shot found the net behind Yotes goalie Louis Dominique. Brandon Sutter and Daniels Sedin also scored for Vancouver and Jacob Markstrom recorded 34 stops to pick up the victory. Anthony DeAngelo and Brad Richardson supplied the Arizona offense but Dominique ended up with a tough loss. The game was extra costly for the Coyotes when Richardson was carried off with an apparent injury to his right leg.
