The Xcel Energy Center and the Minnesota Wild await a visit from the Winnipeg Jets for Tuesday night NHL hockey.
The Winnipeg Jets five game road trip has not gone as plan as the team dropped the first three following a 3-1 loss to the surging Carolina Hurricanes. Fortunately the Jets have a few days off as they play Wednesday after back to back games where they scored one goal. Mark Scheifele was the lone bright spot for Winnipeg with his 11th goal but Connor Hellebuyck never had a chance to breathe with 40 Canes shots coming at him. The Hurricanes scoring came off the sticks of Noah Hanifin, Victor Rask and Elias Lindholm with Cam Ward picking up the win to complete a successful 4-1 homestand.

A lack of scoring punch has been a thorn in the side of the Minnesota Wild thus far and it hurt them again in a 3-2, overtime loss at Dallas on Monday. The Wild received goals from Erik Haula and Nino Niederreiter who trailed 1-0 and 2-1 whhile the loss went to Darcy Kuemper who recorded 29 stops. Minnesota has scored two goals or less in eight of their last nine. Jamie Benn was the hero for Dallas as he scored just 1:23 in to the extra session with Jamie Oleksiak and Brett Richie scoring in regulation while Antti Niemi posted 27 saves to pick up the victory.
The under is 4-0 in Jets last 4 vs. Western Conference and the Jets are 0-4 in their last 4 road games while the under is 3-0-1 in Jets last 4 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. The under is 4-0-1 in Wild last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and the under is 5-0-1 in Wild last 6 home games while the under is 4-0-1 in Wild last 5 vs. a team with a losing record. The Jets are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.
The under has to be looked at with neither team scoring but the total will be five and I hate that. I don’t trust either squad but we’ll have to wait for goalies and lines…
