The Line: San Jose Sharks / Anaheim Ducks --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Anaheim Ducks look to shake off a tough home loss to the Chicago Blackhawks last night as they take to the road to battle the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
The Ducks couldn’t find a way to take down the Blackhawks at the Honda Center last night and will now look to get back in the win column against their in-state rivals from San Jose in a game that should be very close. Anaheim got off to a slow start this season but have since turned a corner despite last night’s set back and if they can come into the Shark Tank and leave with a win and some confidence they could be in a very similar spot to where they were last year in the Pacific division. Anaheim will likely stick with John Gibson here despite playing in the back to back while the Sharks should counter with Martin Jones though stay posted on who officially gets the nod for both teams.

The Sharks meanwhile are coming off a big win at home against the New York Islanders in which they netted the game winner in the final minute of regulation and are now in a good position as they host their rivals from Anaheim. San Jose has Cup aspirations once again this season as they have most of the same roster from last year’s group and after finally getting over the hump and winning the Western Conference last season I think they have the poise and confidence of knowing they can take down the league’s best teams.
The Ducks are 38-16 in their last 54 against the Pacific and 3-8 in their last 11 road games while the Sharks are 6-2 in their last eight home games and 5-0 in their last five playing in a back to back. The Sharks got the win yesterday and should get another here in a game that should come down to the wire but will ultaimtely go to the home side.
