The Pittsburgh Penguins saw their offense come to the rescue just in the nick of time in a 4-3, shootout victory versus visiting New Jersey on Saturday. Kris Letang scored the lone goal in the SO although Sydney Crosby might be the offensive star as his tally with 14 seconds remaining in regulation tied the game at 3-3. Also lighting the lamp for the Pens was Jake Guentzel and Tom Kuhnhackl while Evgeni Malkin posted three assists to make the 27 save effort of Matt Murray a winner. The Devils offense came off the stick of Mike Cammalleri who scored twice with Vernon Fiddler also scoring although Mike Kinkaid’s 46 stops still wasn’t enough.

The New York Islanders might have had a tough trip to the West Coast but a return to home was just what the doctor ordered for at least a day. Calgary’s lone goal came from Sean Monahan early in the first period but Brian Elliott and his 25 stops could not get the Fames the win.
