The Canadien Tire Centre and the Ottawa Senators host the Philadelphia Flyers in NHL action.
The Philadelphia Flyers outlasted the visiting Boston Bruins 3-2 in a shootout to record consecutive victories in upping their record to 11-10-3. Shane Gostisbehere scored in the 9th round of the SO in just his second career shootout attempt to send the Wells Fargo Center crowd in to a wild celebration. Claude Giroux and Michael Del Zotto provided the offense in regulation to make the massive 45 save performance of Steve Mason hold up. The Bruins received their offense from Brad Marchand and David Krejci with Tuukka Rask absorbing the loss on 19 stops as Boston fell for the 4th time in five games.

The Buffalo Sabres don’t have a ton of scoring potential and a lack of offense has cost them in the win column so when this team scores they have to win which we saw in Tuesday’s 5-4 victory at Ottawa. Ryan O’Reilly paced the Sabres attack with a pair of tallies with Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart and Kyle Okposo aloso lighting the lamp while Robin Lehner and Anders Nilsson allowed four goals on 35 combined shots. Mike Hoffman tried to save the Senators with a hat trick and assist with Mark Stone also hitting the back of the net but Craig Anderson struggled between the pipes with just 23 saves.
The Flyers are 1-6 in their last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and the Flyers are 1-4 in their last 5 games following a win while the under is 4-1-1 in Flyers last 6 vs. Eastern Conference. The Senators are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. Metropolitan and the Senators are 4-0 in their last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game while the Senators are 1-10 in their last 11 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation. The under is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings and the Flyers are 7-20-3 in the last 30 meetings in Ottawa while the home team is 22-10 in the last 32 meetings.
If you follow trends you know the under and Senators have been strong in this match up although I don’t know who is in the nets…
