The Line: Toronto Maple Leafs -140 / New York Rangers +110 --- Over/Under: 5.5 See the Latest Odds

The New York Rangers look to spoil the party at the ACC as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in a marquee show down on Saturday night.

The Rangers look to shake off a rusty start to the season on home ice as they take to the road to match up with their Original Six rivals from Toronto who looked brilliant in their season opener in Winnipeg. New York made some moves in the offseason to keep them in the hunt for an Eastern Conference crown but they are going to have to find a way to deal with a Leafs side that hung seven goals on the board in their season opener and this could very well be a show case for how both of these teams will finish off towards season’s end. New York is slated to send Henrik Lundqvist to the crease here as he will match up against Frederik Andersen as both goaltenders aim to send their team to victory in what figures to be a very close contest.

The Leafs meanwhile looked excellent in their season debut, albeit against a Jets side that is thin between the pipes and will struggle keeping pucks out of their net, but even still the Buds lit the lamp and will be a tough team to slow down this season. Toronto is led by a young core of forwards that includes Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and William Nylander and with the veteran addition of Patrick Marleau and guys like James van Riemsdyk and Tyler Bozak still on the roster they are a very well balanced offense that matches them up well against most teams in the league. Andersen had a strong season in the crease last year and will be a big contributor to the overall team success of a Leafs group that should return to the playoffs.

The Rangers are 2-8 in their last 10 road games and 2-5 in their last seven overall while the Leafs are 2-5 in their last seven home games and 703 in their last 10 playing on two days rest. The Rangers didn’t look great on Thursday night and should be better tonight but in Toronto’s home opener I like them to get it done in what should be a fun game to watch.
