The New Jersey Devils look to pull off the upset on the road on Wednesday night as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre.

The Devils look to stay undefeated and silence the critics with a big time win on the road against the Leafs on Wednesday night in a game where the line is greatly favouring the Buds thanks to their 3-0 start in which they have riddled opponents with goals. New Jersey though is a very stingy group in the defensive zone and have one of the league’s best goaltenders in Corey Schneider and while Toronto has some of the league’s best offensive talents in the NHL I think they are going to be in tough to solve the Devils at the same rate they have against the Jets, Rangers, and Blackhawks. New Jersey has had their struggles against the Atlantic division as they are 1-6 in their last seven and have lost 40 of their last 58 games on the road so it makes sense that the Leafs are big time favourites in this spot.

The Leafs meanwhile have looked very good to start the season and are following up last year’s impressive turnaround with three wins to open the season and are certainly in the mix as an Eastern Conference contender. Toronto has long awaited a roster like the one they currently possess and haven’t had this kind of hype in decades as they have some of the league’s most talented youngsters in Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Mitch Marner and if the supporting cast can stay hot and lead this team on and off the ice they are going to be very tough to slow down.

The Devils are 21-48 in their last 69 overall and 3-9 in their last 12 following a win while the Leafs are 8-21 in their last 29 Wednesday games and have played to the over in their last four following a win. The Devils need this one to be a low scoring affair if they’re going to have any shot and at a full six the play here is on the under as Andersen and Schneider are both great goaltenders.
