The Boston Bruins look to shake off a loss in New York as they keep their road trip going in Toronto as they face off with the Maple Leafs on Friday night.

The Bruins look to get back on track and take down one of their archrivals in the process as they head into Toronto to face off with the Maple Leafs as both teams aim for a victory heading into the weekend. Boston comes into tonight’s game with a serviceable 6-5-3 record on the year but they don’t seem to have the same fire power we have seen from them in recent years and have gone from an imposing group on the blue line to just trying to play catch up and until they can figure out a way to generate some offense from their secondary lines and get some better play from their defense they are going to be a tough team to handicap as they simply don’t have the talent that other groups do in the East. Anton Khudobin is expected to get the start here as he will face off against Frederik Andersen who is out to prove he is worthy of being Toronto’s every day starter.

The Leafs meanwhile got off to a fast start but have since traded wins and losses and look as though they still have some growing to do before they can be considered a legitimate threat in the Eastern Conference. However, a win here against their bitter Original Six and Atlantic division foes could serve as a catalyst for this group to make a push in the Atlantic division and with Boston seemingly having trouble find ways to score at a consistent rate and the Buds building on a 4-2 win against the Wild this looks like a great spot for the Leafs to keep their winning streak alive.

The Bruins are 1-5 in their last six against the Atlantic and 1-4 in their last five road games while the Leafs are 5-2 in their last seven against the Atlantic and 7-2 in their last nine against a team with a losing record. Boston is a tough team to handicap as they really don’t have a ton of depth while Toronto seems to be back on the ascent and they are the play in this one.
