The Colorado Avalanche and Ottawa Senators meet up again in Sweden for the NHL Global Series as Ottawa looks to sweep the two game set.

The Avalanche dropped the first leg of the two game series being played in Sweden this weekend in what was an exciting 4-3 overtime final in Matt Duchene’s first game with his new team which just so happened to come against the Avs. Colorado came into this season coming off a disastrous campaign a year ago and while things did look a lot better to start this season it looks as though things are reverting back to normal as the Avs are slumping right now and don’t have the personnel to compete in the Western Conference. Jonathan Bernier is expected to get the start here as he will face off against Mike Condon as both backups are expected to get the nod here after Varlamov and Anderson got the start yesterday.

The Senators meanwhile netted a big win in the first game of this series and they will be out to make it two in a row as they settle in after making the blockbuster move to acquire the former Avs superstar and adjust to their new expectations. Ottawa is loaded across the board and have a ton of depth up top now led by the addition of Duchene and with Erik Karlsson manning the blue line as one of the league’s best players this Senators side is more than capable of going back to the Eastern Conference final and beyond this year.

The Avalanche are 4-1 in their last five against the Eastern Conference and 12-40 in their last 52 road games while the Sens are 7-2 in their last nine Saturday games and have played to the over in four of their last five. Colorado will look to rebound but I like Ottawa here as they have the edge in goal as Condon is a legit starter while Bernier hasn’t been able to find a stable home and I think the Sens get it done.
