The Montreal Canadiens look to snap out of their losing funk against Metro division opponents as they welcome the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Bell Centre on Tuesday night.

The Blue Jackets look for a huge statement win on the road against the Montreal Canadiens as they have slumped their way into a 1-4 stretch over the last five games but face off against a Habs side here that has started to play better of late but got off to an ice cold start and now will be without Carey Price indefinitely as he is back on the injured reserve. Columbus has been a funny team to figure out this season as they have been very streaky and look like a Cup contender one night and a lottery team the next but on the whole they look like a group capable of getting back to the playoff and challenging for top spot in the Metro division. Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to get the start here as he will face off against Charlie Lindgren who is the guy right now in Montreal thanks to Price’s injury and a concussion to backup Al Montoya.

Montreal Canadiens vs. Columbus Blue Jackets - 11/14/17 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Canadiens have played their way back into contention in the Atlantic division as they are 4-1 in their last five games and seem to have a sense of rejuvenation after a sluggish start to the season but the play of third stringer Charlie Lindgren is going to be a major factor in how well this team does moving forward as they are built around strong goaltending play and if he falters this group could be in deep trouble. The Habs made a push in the offseason to acquire Jonathan Drouin and so far he has been one of the team’s best forwards and looks as though he is worthy of the trade for top defensive prospect Mikhail Sergachev but Drouin can’t do things alone and will need some of his supporting cast to pick up the slack and quick.

The Jackets are 15-5 in their last 20 Tuesday games and 37-18 in their last 55 against a team with a losing record while the Habs are 8-2 in their last 10 playing on two day’s rest and 1-4 in their last five against a team with a winning road record. Columbus is having a stronger season and has a huge edge in goal here and in the end they have to be the play despite these teams moving in opposite directions.
