The Line: Pittsburgh Penguins / Philadelphia Flyers --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Philadelphia Flyers look to snap their ugly losing skid as they head into enemy territory to face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night.

The Flyers have fallen on hard times and have wiped away their strong start to the season as they are in the midst of an ugly losing streak and things don’t get any easier as they face off against their bitter rivals in the Pittsburgh Penguins on the road on Monday night. The Flyers have been a tough team to figure out so far this season as they seem to elevate their play against some of the league’s best and fall short when playing against teams they should beat and thus they are impossible to try and get a read on and this spot appears to be no different as they should find a way to keep this one competitive. Philly is expected to send Brian Elliott to the crease here as he will face off against Matt Murray who hasn’t had a great statistical season thus far despite having the victories to support his status as one of the league’s better goaltenders.

The Penguins meanwhile have been lights out at home so far this season and have a staggering 41-13 record in their last 54 games in Pittsburgh and they will look to keep that rolling against the Flyers in the marquee matchup of a light Monday evening slate. The Pens have struggled of late though as they have lost their last seven games when allowing two goals or fewer in their previous outing and are 1-4 in their last five after a victory so consistency has been an issue and they will have to be better in that regard if they’re going to three-peat as the Stanley Cup champions. Despite their home mark the Penguins have had trouble beating the Flyers on home ice as Philly has taken 14 of their last 20 matchups behind enemy lines and with the line here being inflated they are worthy of at least a look.

The Flyers are 10-28 in their last 38 road games and winless in their last six Monday games while the Pens are 48-20 in their last 68 against the Metro and 79-38 in their last 117 against the East. The over in this series always seems to hit and have hit in their last four in Pittsburgh and the trend continues here as this one sails over.
