The Edmonton Oilers return home to face off against a rejuvenated Arizona Coyotes side as the two worst teams in the West look for a breakout victory.

The Coyotes head into Edmonton on Tuesday night looking for just their seventh victory of the season but they have seemingly turned a corner after a woeful 2-15 start as they are 4-2 in their last six and are finally starting to look like an NHL team after a month of looking otherwise. Arizona has also registered four of their seven wins this season on the road but head into Edmonton to take on an Oilers side who are quickly reaching desperation mode if they haven’t already and that sense of panic could actually come back to bite the Coyotes here as Edmonton will be walking on egg shells and needs a huge win in front of their home fans. Scott Wedgewood is expected to make the start as he will face off against Cam Talbot who has been a tad inconsistent to start the year and needs to regain the form of last season, though the play in front of him hasn’t been great either.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Arizona Coyotes - 11/28/17 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Oilers head into tonight’s game with just nine victories so far and with December around the corner that simply isn’t good enough for a team many had pegged as a Cup contender. The Oilers are usually a tough team to play against at home but they are a modest 3-7 in their last 10 games at Rogers Place and while an appealing matchup looks them in the face here they need to take full advantage of it as they are quickly falling down the ladder in the Pacific division standings and a loss to a divisional foe that sits in the league basement wouldn’t exactly be a confidence booster.

The Coyotes are 16-36 in their last 52 overall and 1-5 in their last six against the Pacific while the Oilers are 1-9 in their last 10 following a win and 14-42 in their last 56 Tuesday games. Arizona is playing better but this is a must win for Edmonton and I expect they take advantage.
