The Line: New York Islanders -170 / Vancouver Canucks +153 --- Over/Under: 5.5 See the Latest Odds

The New York Islanders look to stay red hot at home as they welcome the Vancouver Canucks to the Barclay’s Center on Tuesday night.

The Canucks come into New York on Tuesday looking to pull off another impressive road victory and add another to their win column as they are a very serviceable 8-4 away from home this season but they will be in tough against an Isles side that loves playing in Brooklyn and has earned a 7-0-1 record at home so far this season. Vancouver came into the season expecting a long year but they have come out of the gates flying and while there is a high risk of a regression coming they are an enjoyable group to watch and have a bright young core led by Bo Horvat, Jake Virtanen, and Brock Boeser. Jacob Markstrom is expected to get the start here as he will face off against Thomas Greiss who is 8-2-2 despite having a GAA over 3.2.

The Islanders meanwhile come into Tuesday night’s game with a sparkling 6-1 mark in their last seven games and are starting to look like a group capable of going on a run in the Eastern Conference as they have a handful of game breakers offensively and a serviceable blue line. Goaltending remains a concern for the Isles as it has for many seasons as the tandem of Jaroslav Halak and Thomas Greiss haven’t been able to keep this group in check and don’t exactly exude a ton of confidence and that could end up being the difference between this team being a Cup contender and one that misses out on the playoffs altogether.

The Canucks are 5-0 in their last five Tuesday games and 7-20 in their last 27 against the Metro while the Isles are 4-1 in their last five following a win and 20-8 in their last 28 against a team with a losing record. This game has all the makings of a high scoring shootout as both teams are talented offensively, thin at the back, and have goaltending concerns so seeing this line at six should still give a confident over play.
