The Line: Buffalo Sabres / Pittsburgh Penguins --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Buffalo Sabres look to snap out of their ugly early season losing stretch as they welcome the two time defending Cup champions to town on Friday night.
The Penguins look for a road victory and send the Sabres to yet another defeat as the two sides meet up in Buffalo on Friday night as Pittsburgh looks to shake off their woeful road mark over the last couple of weeks as they are 1-5 in their last six contests away from home. The Pens are well rested here though as they have had three days off and have been great when playing with extended time off as they are 7-2 in their last nine contests on three or more day’s rest and against a Sabres side that can’t seem to find a way to win wherever they are playing should keep those trends moving in Pittsburgh’s favour in this one.

The Sabres head into tonight’s game with just 16 wins in their last 52 games and have dropped five of their last six playing at home but this would be a huge confidence boost for the Sabres heading into the weekend if they can take down the two time defending champions. However, the Sabres have been dominated at home by the Penguins over the years as they are 1-7 against Pittsburgh in Buffalo in their last eight contests and with Robin Lehner’s struggles under a microscope here it won’t be any easier for them to reverse their fortunes.
The Pens are 5-2 in their last seven against the Atlantic and 10-4 in their last 14 Friday games while the Sabres are 28-65 in their last 93 against the Metro and 4-10 in their last 14 Friday games. Buffalo just isn’t a good team and while they are at home it doesn’t matter as the Pens get back to business with a road win tonight.
