The BB&T Center and the Florida Panthers host the Winnipeg Jets in Thursday NHL action.
The Winnipeg Jets will be aiming to get back in the win column when the team plays their second straight road game. Winnipeg comes in off of a 5-1 defeat at the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday where neither end of the ice was able to come through. The Jets saw Patrik Laine score in the second period for his 14th of the year but the team is winless in their last three away from home as Connor Hellebuyck was charged with all five goals on 32 shots.

The slumping Red Wings dominated all areas with Gustav Nyqvist leading the attack with a pair of goals with Darren Helm, Justin Abdelkader and David Booth also getting in to the win column. Nyqvist completed a three point performance with an assist while Jimmy Howard recorded 25 stops to help Detroit end a seven game slide.
The Florida Panthers hope to avoid a four game slide when the Winnipeg Jets com to town on Thursday. Florida never found their defense in a 5-4, shootout loss to the visiting New York Islanders on Tuesday night that saddled the team with three straight defeats while New York stayed hot. The Florida offense received goals from Aaron Ekblad, Keith Yandle, Aleksander Barkov and Denis Malgin. Roberto Luongo stopped 12-13 shots before getting hurt with James Reimer allowing three goals on 19 shots.
The balanced Islanders attack received offense off the sticks of Thomas Hickey, Anders Lee, Brock Nelson and John Tavares. The shootout featured a lone tally from rookie Mathew Barzal on his first ever career SO try while the Isles received 39 saves from Jaroslav Halak.
Jets are 7-0 in their last 7 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and Jets are 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss of 3 or more goals and Jets are 5-0 in their last 5 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game. Under is 5-0 in Panthers last 5 vs. Western Conference and Panthers are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Western Conference and under is 5-0 in Panthers last 5 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. Home team is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings and over is 6-2-1 in the last 9 meetings and Jets are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings in Florida.
There is generally plenty of offense when these teams take the ice so I’ll go with the over pending goalies…
