Arizona Coyotes vs. Colorado Avalanche - 12/23/17 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Coyotes have a chance to win back-to-back games for the first time since November 18-20. The Arizona Coyotes are averaging 2.2 goals per game and are scoring on 16.2 percent of their power play opportunities. Clayton Keller leads Arizona with 12 goals, Max Domi has 15 assists and Oliver Ekman-Larsson has 98 shots on goal. Defensively, the Arizona Coyotes are allowing 3.4 goals per game and are killing 82.1 percent of their opponents power plays. Scott Wedgewood has given up 36 goals on 397 shots faced and Antti Raanta has allowed 40 goals on 478 shots. The Arizona Coyotes have allowed three or less goals in eight of their last 11 games.

The Avalanche are 16-45 in their last 61 games playing on 1 days rest, 12-41 in their last 53 road games and 29-69 in their last 98 overall. The Coyotes are 18-38 in their last 56 games playing on 0 days rest, 5-16 in their last 21 home games and 13-38 in their last 51 overall. The Avalanche are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Arizona and the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

We've made a lot of money fading the Arizona Coyotes pretty much all season, but an overtime victory Friday night against the Washington Capitals could go a long way for this young teams confidence. It may have been the spark this team needed. The Colorado Avalanche aren't exactly stringing wins together and have been terrible on the road dating back to last season. So, I'll go ahead and side with the Coyotes here, something I've done rarely this season.
