The Vancouver Canucks also need a victory after losing seven of their last eight games. The Vancouver Canucks are averaging 2.7 goals per game and are scoring on 23 percent of their power play opportunities. Brock Boeser leads Vancouver with 19 goals, Henrik Sedin has 24 assists and Bo Horvat has 65 shots on goal. Defensively, the Vancouver Canucks are allowing 3.2 goals per game and are killing 78.4 percent of their opponents power plays. Jacob Markstrom has given up 69 goals on 718 shots faced and Anders Nilsson has allowed 39 goals on 413 shots. The Vancouver Canucks have allowed a combined 18 goals in their last three games.
The Blues are 86-38 in their last 124 Saturday games, 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Western Conference and 1-5 in their last 6 overall. The Canucks are 6-24 in their last 30 home games, 14-37 in their last 51 games playing on 1 days rest and 22-47 in their last 69 overall. The Blues are 11-23-2 in the last 36 meetings in Vancouver, 6-1 in the last 7 meetings and the home team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
There's no way I can consider backing the Vancouver Canucks here, as the losses are piling up in a major way and the defense has been the worst of any team in the last week or so. Allowing 18 goals in their last three games is simply insane. The St. Louis Blues haven't exactly been on the right side in the last week, but the defense continues to show up, which means it's only a matter of time before things start going their way again. Give me the Blues on the road, as there's really no other option in this one.
