The Line: New Jersey Devils / Buffalo Sabres --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The lowly Buffalo Sabres look for a victory on the road as they head into New Jersey to face off with the Devils on Friday night.
The Sabres have had some bad beats this season and has led to some outcry from their players with the latest coming from goaltender Robin Lehner who has gone as far as to say that the league is against his team, and while it is hard to process that claim it is clear that the Sabres have created a source of frustration for themselves and their fans alike. Buffalo comes into Friday night’s game with New Jersey having just 16 wins in their last 60 games and with just nine wins to their name so far this season they sit second to last in the league standings and haven’t given us any reason to take a chance on them as an underdog. Lehner is expected to get the start here as he will face off against Corey Schneider who has backstopped the Devils to top spot in the Metro division at the Christmas break.

The Devils come into Friday night’s show down as winners of six home games in a row and they have swept their last four meetings with the Sabres and the odds makers have the home side continuing their success as they are bound to be big time favourites by puck drop. New Jersey still has some holes in their lineup but after drafting Nico Hischier to pair up alongside Taylor Hall and adding some depth on their blue line this could very well be a team that creates some waves in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
The Sabres are 2-6 in their last eight Friday games 2-9 in their last 11 playing on one day’s rest while the Devils are 4-0 in their last four following a win but 19-49 in their last 68 Friday games. Buffalo is a nightmare to watch right now and with an extended road trip coming as a result of the World Junior tournament happening back home I think they get hit with another tough road loss in this spot.
