The New York Rangers visit the PPG PAINTS Arena to face the Pittsburgh Penguins in Sunday NHL action.
The New York Rangers sit in the 4th spot in the Metropolitan and need to regroup after dropping three of four following a 7-2 defeat to the rival New York Islanders on Saturday. The explosive Rangers attack saw Kevin Hayes and Mika Zibanejad with Ondrej Pavelec allowing five goals on 19 shots while Henrik Lundqvist came on to stop 16 shots.

The big time offense of the Islanders saw the twosome of Mathew Barzal and Anthony Beauvillier both score twice while Thomas Hickey, Shane Prince and Cal Clutterbuck also lit the lamp. The Isles received four helpers fro Jordan Eberle and three more from Barzal to make the 35 save effort of Jaroslav Halak a winner.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been one of the more inconsistent squads in the game but are hoping their recent surge means things are about to turnaround. Pittsburgh has won three in a row and four of five after upending the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Saturday. The Red Wings lone goal came off the stick of Justin Abdelkader with Jimmy Howard stopping 32 shots in defeat.
The Penguins received a pair of tallies from Evgeni Malkin while Phil Kessel and Sydney Crosby each scored with the man advantage. Malkin and Kessel added two helpers apiece and Pittsburgh received 29 saves from Tristan Jarry.
