The St. Louis Blues look to shake off their disappointing road record as they head into Buffalo to take on the Sabres who are coming in as one of the worst teams in the NHL.
The Blues look to continue their winning ways as they take on the Sabres on Saturday night and with a 5-2 mark in their last seven and a ridiculous track record against Buffalo intact the Blues are huge favourites in Vegas. St. Louis has been a bit inconsistent over the last month or so but they are in a good position to get back in the mix for top spot in the Central division as the Sabres are 3-13 in their last 16 Saturday games and are woeful on home ice which bodes very well for the Blues to add one in the win column in this one. Jake Allen is expected to get the nod here as he will face off against Robin Lehner who hasn’t had a ton of support in front of him this season as Buffalo is among the worst defensive teams in the league.

The Sabres meanwhile have had a very tough go of things this season as first year head coach Phil Housley hasn’t been able to generate enough consistency from his bunch and with a disappointing record on home ice it doesn’t look as though they are going to make a turnaround in the season’s second half. Buffalo heads into tonight’s game with the Blues with only 15 wins in their last 57 contests and at this rate they look like they are going to be among the lottery teams in line to select Rasmus Dahlin in next year’s draft, and while it is never a fun time to see your team struggling I think the Sabres faithful and front office would be more than happy with that possibility.
The Blues are a staggering 20-3 in their last 23 meetings with the Sabres and are 10-2 in their last 12 in Buffalo while the Sabres are 9-19 in their last 28 against the West and 15-42 in their last 57 overall. St. Louis is a big favourite here and while they have had issues on the road lately the trends are too strong to ignore as they get another win here.
