The Dallas Stars look to stay red hot and send the Chicago Blackhawks to another loss as these two sides meet up in the Windy City on Thursday night.
The Stars look to continue their recent success against teams with a losing record as they have won their last six straight and catch the Hawks in a down year who have been one of the bigger disappointments in the NHL this season. Dallas meanwhile is coming off a tough year of their own when they were one of the big underachievers but they have looked like a Cup contender for most of this season and as winners of five of their last seven they are hitting their stride as the calendar has hit February and with the all-star break in the rear view things are heating up in the playoff picture and Dallas looks like they’re going to be a part of it. Ben Bishop is expected to get the start in goal for the Stars as he will face off against Anton Forsberg who will look to give the Hawks a much needed spark on home ice.

The Blackhawks head into tonight’s game on a five game home losing streak and a disappointing 6-14 mark in their last 20 games against the Central division which is terrible news in this one against a Stars side who has been playing some of their best hockey of the season. The Hawks look as though they’re finally feeling the effects of a handful of deep playoff seasons as they don’t have the personnel they once had and now with a ton of money locked up in Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane and very little set aside for secondary pieces the Hawks run the risk of missing out on the playoffs altogether this season which doesn’t seem to fit after their impressive streak.
The Stars are 4-1 in their last five road games and 5-2 in their last seven against the West while the Hawks are 2-7 in their last nine overall and 11-25 in their last 36 against the West. Dallas is the deeper team and while Chicago used to be a tough place to play they have been steamrolled lately and Dallas keeps that going. Take the Stars.
